This tart little gem of a fruit is incredibly rich in vitamin C, the European barberry (Berberis vulgaris) has been revered and used for its medicinal properties and health benefits. Characteristics Color: Characteristically red, From coral to deep crimson Appearance: Composed of barberry with general appearance of the representative type Smell/Taste: Typical Barberry sour taste and smell / sour natural fruit flavor Consistency: Firm, non-sticky, free flowing Natural crimson dried Barberries Persian Seedless Barberries (B. vulgaris) are the mature fruits of a shrub of which many species grow wild throughout the temperate regions of middle east. Contains no genetically modifies organisms. Barberries are processed and offered in two types: Puffy Type: Shade dried - New crop available from March Anari Type: Sun dried - New crop available from November
