The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is moving forward with new grading standards for processed raisins. The USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) announced Wednesday slight changes to the raisin standards as part of an effort to remove offensive language from the text of the previous rule. The USDA will remove all references to “midget” raisins. The changes go into effect in 30 days.
